Case studies

As Enabled4Growth progresses, we will feature case studies of successes.

Disabled business owners have told us that when they apply to banks, grant-makers and investors, they often do not understand why their applications fail and some funders give very little feedback to help in the future.

Our experience tells us that people running a small business are usually too busy running that business to look strategically at investment finance. One business owner told us, “I know when I do my weekly accounts that I need more investment in order to grow. I know that I have a good business. I see lots of advertisements for bank loans, grant programmes and then I see Dragon’s Den on the TV and I think I might be able to get this type of investment.”

Enabled4Growth will work with business owners to identify what type of finance is available and the hurdles that need to be jumped to obtain it. All businesses are as different as the individuals running them. Enabled4Growth will work with business owners to explore their options, identify their strengths and weaknesses and look at their business from a funder’s point of view. Business Advisors will work with them to make their business plan attractive to potential funders. The Business Advisor will also help them prepare answers to potentially difficult questions.

The aim will be to ensure clients understood their choices, were able to make good applications and were able to avoid pitfalls, either before or after getting new investment.
